An indoor day for Sunday

Here are a few photos and video that we wanted to post. Just a few pics from around the house this weekend. Mia still has the croup, but slowly getting better. Graycie still has a cough, she'll go to school tomorrow, not sure if Mia will. They both stayed indoors all day, again. Graycie did get to go with Frank to Home Depot.



Frank's chore for the day was to make Amber a coffee table. Amber wanted a bigger one, shaped like a jelly bean for downstairs. So, off to Home Depot went Graycie and daddy. Soon after we got back, Seth called to go bunny hunting so the building plans were put on hold for a few hours so Frank could get in some trigger time :)

So, the kids dressed up Pinot all day and she was a good sport. They even got Pinot dressed up in their loved Seattle Seahawks tshirt, Pinot just loved it. So here are a few pics and videos of today. Frank was able to cut, sand, and build the table after he got back. Amber is down painting the table as I type... I'm sure one of 100 times this will be painted by Amber. It turned out really nice, somewhat big.

Bunny Hunting out in Menan

It was a beautiful day outside today. It was clear and no breeze, the temperature was about 27 degrees in Idaho Falls. We were able to get out and hunt later in the day, Steve and Seth called to go hunting. Dave and I were going to go earlier but plans fell through.



We went out to the bunny grounds, it's about 30 minutes Northwest of Idaho Falls. There isn't as much snow in Menan, compared to Idaho Falls. We met at the first turn off on the dirt road. It's about halfway through the Northern Butte. We headed out, split up and hiked about 2 miles through the valleys and rock formations.

We got a few bunnies within a couple minutes. Saw a few more while out in the field but they quickly ran into their hiding spots in the rock cliffs. Heard a bunch of other firearms being fired off in the distance. Fish and Game has blocked off many of this area to driving and target shooting. Too many dirt bags dumping trash. Shit like TVs, Washers, computer monitors, engines, etc... Ya, real dumbasses. But, not it keeps the lazy one's out who aren't willing to hike.

Ended up hiking for about an hour, got a couple of bunnies. It was still sunny and clear out. You could hear a few dog sled teams off in the distance running down the snow-covered dirt road.

Snowy day in Idaho Falls

Nothing much happening this weekend. Amber has 3 days off, Frank has the weekend off... no school and its been snowing all day. Had to get about a 1/4 cord of wood today, paid about 10 bucks for some clean wood. We put the wood away and chopped the rest so we'll have a good supply for a few weeks.

Here's a few pics of us just hanging out this weekend. Keeping warm downstairs, playing with the turtle, and watching Barkley sleep 2 inches from the incredibly hot wood stove.








We still burn from the time we get up to past going to bed. The girls are both a little sick; Mia's cough isn't getting any better and now Graycie seems like she is trying to get one. Been to the store and have everything we need so we don't have to leave this weekend. I posted a few panoramic photos of snow in Idaho Falls.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll get out bunny hunting with the guys. Should be great conditions for it, plenty of fresh snow and the bunny tracks will be fresh. I think Seth, Frank, Steve and Dave will be heading out the the bunny grounds early in the morning.

Mia's Birthday Party... she's 5!!!

Had a great time, Mia had such a blast with her family and friends. The party started around 2 and didn't really end till the next morning. She had a few of her school friends over, and Grandpa, Seth, Jessica, Steve & Christi and their kids Acacia and Kyler. Acacia ended up spending the night for Mia and Graycie's first sleep over.





Mia had a Nemo cake, something she picked out herself. We drove around most of the late afternoon trying to find a cake for her but ended up going to Fred Meyers where she found one she liked.

Her party was a Tea Party. We even had actual tea, no caffeine and its made for little ones. We brought the table upstairs for the girls and decorated it. They all played games and ran around like wild animals with their heads cut off... but they had fun. The house was a mess.


She got lots of fun toys, probably her favorite was the moon sand and the kids vacuum cleaner. She's been wanting one for a while now. They also loved the dart blow guns that Seth and Grandpa got her. They have been terrorizing the cats and dogs, I've had a blast with the blow guns also... chasing the animals around.

All in all... a great day for Mia. We are exhausted and quite happy all went down as planned, and glad that it's over :) Next party will be Graycie's in a few months. Not sure what she wants to do, hopefully the weather will be nicer. The day of Mia's party, the low was -14 degrees. We went shooting the day before and froze our asses off!

Myself, Dave, and Steve headed out from Idaho Falls to Deerpark, or as we call it the bunny killing grounds. We normally go here to hunt bunnys and hang out with the guys. Sometimes, when the weather is warm, we'll take the kids with us. Graycie and Mia really enjoy shooting and I plan to get them their own rifle next year.

It was cold, damn cold... no, it was incredibly cold! I'm guessing 10 below when we got there, and that was around 11am. I think all of us at one time went numb somewhere on our body. Not much wind, but the nose hairs sure froze up quickly. Reloading was fun with icicles for fingers. But, it was fun... hangin out, jamin to some good tunes, and blasting away.

We just had our .22 rifles, nothing special. I shoot a Savage .22, real straight shooter, bolt action, solid black, with one bitch'n scope. Dave has a .22 auto, not sure what brand. Steve took Golden Boy today... a .22 magnum, beautiful wood stock, and perty brass plating.

It's about 20 minutes from Idaho Falls, right above Lewisville and Menan, Idaho. Ya just turn left after you pass the Elk Farm on the right, about halfway through the Northern Menan Butte. Nice drive, about 8 inches or so of snow, we took Dave's truck... a smooth ride. He just got Sirus Satellite, a bitchin setup.
We shot for a while but the river offered no moving targets as the cold weather froze all the water into giant chunks of ice. First time this has happened, we always have a constant moving shooting gallery of unlimited targets (ice bergs). They explode and then sink once hit, pretty fun when you have a few guys out there blasting away.

We saw a dog sled team practicing while we were driving out... and there were a few trucks with sleds on the top and a few more teams of dogs. Good time today, we didn't have too long as I had to get back to I.F. so Amber could get her massage. But, hopefully the ice berg stoppage will be short-lived and we'll have our multiple moving targets back. Still wanting to jump in the Kayaks and float down the Snake River through the mist and the ice. Hopefully soon.
