Weekend Stuff - RJ Visit - Airshow

Just another weekend at home, didn't go camping like planned because we wanted to go see the air show up in Rexburg. RJ came up from sALT lAKE cITY Friday night and crashed at our house Friday night. He was on his way up to Rexburg and St. Anthony to the gigantic Saint Anthony Sand Dunes to ride with his buddies for the week. Lucky guy!



It was pretty hot on Saturday. The family and RJ drove up to Rexburg (about 25 minutes North) to see the annual air show. It we got there to see the last hour and had a pretty good show.



We saw the WWII marine bomber, other WWII fighters, and an L39 Jet. We missed the P51 Mustangs. They had three last year and put on a good show. The girls got to sit in and explore a Blackhawk chopper...they loved it.


We said our bye's to RJ and went back home while he checked into his hotel in Rexburg. We went directly into the neighbor's pool in their backyard. We all just swam in the pool and the girls played until dinner time. It was a hot one, reaching 90.


Amber, Frank, and Joe played croquet all night long and the girls stayed up the latest they ever have... midnight.


They were downstairs watching movies with the Miller girls on the floor, with Pinot. They had popcorn and ice cream while the adults lit the Tiki torches, a fire in the fire pit and played croquet till midnight. We were all in shorts, and had a few pomegranate and vodka's, enjoying the night.


Sunday we didn't do anything, notta. We did take a bike ride to Tautphaus Park to see the old time car show. There were quite a few nice cars and the girls had fun checking out the old cars.

A weekend of yard work and being outside

Just another weekend at home and doing yard work. The kids played outside from the morning till dark both days. Remember all photos can be clicked on for a large view.

The kids were grounded from 0800 till 1200 on Saturday morning for going down to Hayden's house (5 houses down) without asking Friday night... So, Saturday morning they sorted laundry, cleaned the toy room and their room, yard work, and wrote "I will not leave without permission twice". Then they were allowed outside to play afterwards.


Amber and Frank were able to make two trips to Shelly on the Snake River to gather lots of river rock for the yard. We were able to get enough to finish the back bush/fence line in the backyard.





Frank took the wooden posts we used to edge and cut them up making a barrier around the garden in the back corner.


Other then that... nothing much happening. We busted out the croquet Sunday night and played about 20 rounds of the game. The girls didn't get to sleep until 2100 each night, but slept till 0930 each morning which was nice... We biked down to the greenbelt and had a picnic one night and hiked along the river with the girls.

The girls helped with weeding the rose and flower area. All 7 rose bushes we planted this year have many buds on them ready to bloom. The yellow wild rose bush has over 100 bloomed roses on it now.



The red one in the front is getting ready to bust open with about 20. We planted peach color, white, yellow, and what's called a "double delight"... a red and white rose.

Waterpark fun at Ross Park

We took the kids down to Pocatello for the day. We were able to use the zoo pass at the Pocatello Zoo. Not even close to the Idaho Falls zoo. But they did get to see a grizzly and black bear. Some buffalo, elk, and Lynx. The zoo's theme was Idaho's Animals, only having animals native to Idaho. The zoo was in the same area as the water park so we packed the cooler and went to the water park for the day starting at noon. The kids had a blast, tired... and worn down. A little fun in the sun in June

Here are a few photos and videos of the last few days. Also, Graycie's 2nd tooth came out and she wanted everyone in the world to know... so now you know. There is a video below of her talking about it. There are a couple of good videos of the kids in the backyard today. The weather was really nice, sunny and 85 with the normal dry heat, not muggy what-so-ever. Most of the photos are of the yard, garden, trees, and sunflowers we planted so we can look back in a few months and see how they are growing. Remember any photo can be clicked on for a larger view.
